Cape Solander, within Kamay Botany Bay National Park, is named after botanist Daniel Solander, who explored the Botany Bay area with Joseph Banks during James Cook’s 1770 visit. Today the dramatic sandstone cliffs are also one of Sydney’s best-known whale-watching locations.
