Dudley Beach lies on Awabakal Country, south of Newcastle, within the Glenrock State Conservation Area. The surrounding coast has a long Aboriginal history and was later shaped by Newcastle’s coal-mining era, with old workings and tracks still evident in the bushland behind the beach.
