Tomakin Beach lies on Yuin Country on the Eurobodalla Coast. The beach curves for about 900 metres toward the Tomaga River mouth, with reefs protecting parts of the shoreline. The Tomakin area also has a documented Aboriginal history, including a former Aboriginal reserve near the Tomaga River in the late 1800s.
